Insurance and Sliding Fee Scale

Sliding Fee Scale Insurance Employee AssistanceIt is our belief and passion that every person deserves quality counseling, regardless of their financial resources or insurance coverage. As a result, we offer a sliding fee scale, and most insurance plans and/or EAPs are accepted.

Sliding Fee Scale

If you do not have insurance, or your insurance does not cover mental health services, we offer a sliding fee scale option. Your fee will be determined by two factors: your combined annual household income, and the number of people in your household dependent on that income amount. Please call our main office at 314-994-9344 to determine your fee.

Many insurance plans offer mental health coverage. Plans can vary from person to person, which will determine what your copay will be. We accept most major insurances and are happy to check your benefits to find out what kind of coverage you have. Some plans also include out of network benefits.

The insurance companies our counselors accept are listed below. Please be advised this list is not exhaustive. If you do not see your insurance company on the list, please contact our administrative office, 314-994-9344, and we will be happy to check your benefits for you.

Employee Assistance Programs (EAP):

Many employers allow a set number of counseling sessions per year (typically 3 – 8 sessions) that are covered through an EAP (Employee Assistance Program) at no cost to you. Your human resources department can direct you to your EAP provider, they will take you through their intake process, and then they will send authorization paperwork to us.

Insurances we accept include, but are not limited to:

  1. I am trying to get information regarding services. I am employed with the IRS and through our EAP program we have free services and I am trying to see if this office is a provider. I have a session today with another office but would prefer to speak with Dwain Sliger since he was referred to me. If EAP isn’t an option what information do I need to provide to see how much the fee is based on the sliding scale?

  3. We have United Healthcare, which I see you do take. Sometimes the co-payment is the part we can’t afford. Can the co-payment be on a sliding scale fee?

    • Hello Michelle, It is possible that it can be. It depends on your insurance plan. Some insurances require us by law to collect the full copay. Others, however, will allow us to discount the copay when necessary. We can also set up a payment plan with you if your insurance does not allow a discount on your copay. Please contact the main office so that we can help your further, 314-994-9344. Thank you!

    • Hi Brenda, Yes we can! We have a sliding fee scale, so his fee would be based on his income, and may even be as low as $0, depending. Have him call us at 314-994-9344 to speak with an intake coordinator or he can fill out our contact form on our website (click here) and we would be more than happy to help him with that.

  7. It says you take Beacon health options. Do you take them for EPA also? When I called Beacon the counsolor we saw was in network but not signed up with our EPA through DELL.

    • Hello Megan, EAP (Employee Assistance Program) and Insurance are very often completely separate from one another, so it is very possible that a counselor could be credentialed with one and not the other. The process for a counselor to get on an EAP panel is often much less involved than getting on an Insurance panel, and therefore, the counselor can usually just call the EAP and get that taken care of within a fairly short amount of time. For more information, specifically pertaining to your plan, feel free to give our office a call: 314-994-9344.
