Memorial Presbyterian Church was planted in 1864 out of Second Presbyterian Church of St. Louis, which was planted out of First Presbyterian Church. Memorial began building its current home—the congregation’s third—in the 1920s. But the church’s story began much earlier, with a lineage traced through Rome, Celtic Christianity, and the Church of Scotland. Memorial is a group of people with different accents, from different socioeconomic backgrounds, and in different stages of life. Some of them are very involved with the life of the church.
