Minami Steele has been a Licensed Professional Counselor in Missouri since 2017. Minami (pronounced Mee-na-mee) grew up in Japan and earned her bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Ritsumeikan University (Kyoto, Japan) in 2011. Since coming to Missouri, she has earned two master’s degrees from Lindenwood University: Counseling Psychology in 2014 and Special Education with Autism Spectrum Disorders (K-12) in 2019. Presently, Minami works here, at Agape Christian Counseling Services, as well as the Behavioral Health department at Mercy Hospital.

As a therapist, Minami is certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) by the EMDR International Association and has successfully utilized the EMDR method under a wide range of circumstances. While she utilizes evidence-based psychotherapy methods and behavior analysis, Minami recognizes that God is the ultimate source of healing and that He forms how our bodies and brains are designed to work.
